Become a Certified Security Officer Trained By Mantis Strategic Defense LLC®
Mantis Strategic Defense is Southern Oregon’s leading training provider for Unarmed and Armed Security Certifications. We hold over 15 contracts with local Security Entities as in house trainers. We offer state-mandated 14-hour Unarmed and 24-hour Armed DPSST courses, delivered over 2-day and 3-day sessions, respectively. Classes are held monthly, starting at 8:30 a.m.
To work as a fully certified Armed/Unarmed Security Professional in Oregon, you must first complete the 14-hour Unarmed Security Certification before enrolling in the Armed course. The Armed course includes classroom instruction, an 8-hour live-fire range day, and basic handgun training.
Maintaining Your Certification
We offer monthly refresher training to keep your certifications current:
Unarmed Refresher (4 Hours) – Required every 2 years, $75
Armed Refresher (4 Hours) – Required annually, $150 (includes range fee)
You may complete your refresher up to 180 days prior to expiration.
